ISO 30401 KM – Short video to explain the ISO 30401 Knowledge Management Standard

Written by Ron Young on . Posted in Blog, News

This is a video of a webinar session given by Judy Payne of Hemdean Consulting to the Association of Project Managers (APM) on 10th January 2018. The first 15 minutes, in particular, give a good overview and her comment on some of the key messages in the ISO Draft International KM Standard that was published in November 2017.

I am particularly pleased to see this interest in effective KM for the Project Management community. I strongly believe that project managers should consider how highly collaborative project teams transfer, create and apply new knowledge. This new knowledge should be considered as a key deliverable from the project, and project managers could even think about the development of a ‘knowledge plan’, that anticipates new knowledge, at the beginning of each project.

Judy Payne and I are co-members of the ISO 30401 Workgroup 6 that is developing the ISO Knowledge Management Standard.

The Draft Standard is available for download from ISO at:

Any comments or feedback is much appreciated.
